Buttery Curls

Delicious homemade buns for tea. Any filling can be. And making curly buns is easy, I recommend.

Cook: 1 hour 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • Flour – 500-600 g
  • Chicken egg – 1 pc.
  • Butter – 100 g
  • Active dry yeast – 4 g
  • Milk – 200 ml
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar – 4 tbsp

For the filling (optional):

  • Prunes – 300 g
  • Walnuts – 150 g
  • Honey – 50 g

Directions

  1. Heat the milk. Pour warm milk into a bowl. Pour in yeast, stir until completely dissolved.
  2. Put the butter in a saucepan. Put on the smallest fire. Melt, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add salt, sugar, warm butter, beat in a chicken egg. Mix. Sift flour, add to the liquid part. Knead a soft dough.
  4. Put the dough for curly buns in a bowl, cover with a towel and place in a warm place for 40-60 minutes. Prepare the filling for the buns. Wash the prunes, separate from the seeds. Grind nuts and prunes in a meat grinder, add honey. Mix.
  5. The dough should double in size.
    Knead the dough, divide into 2 parts.
  6. Turn on the oven.
    While adding flour, roll each part of the dough into a circle, about 0.5 cm thick.
  7. Place the filling in a thin layer on the rolled dough.
  8. Roll up into a tight roll. Cut the roll with a sharp knife into slices about 3-4 cm wide.
  9. Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil, put the prepared curl buns. Using a silicone brush, brush with whipped yolk or sweet strong tea. Let the curl buns rest for 15-20 minutes in a warm place.
    Place the baking sheet on the middle shelf in the oven. Bake the curl buns at 180 degrees for about 20-25 minutes (until golden brown).

Butter rolls are ready. Have a nice tea!
