Cabbage Salad in German

I propose a recipe for an excellent appetizer – cabbage salad in German. In fact, this is instant pickled cabbage. The salad is sweet and sour, crispy and aromatic. Take note!

Servings: 3-4

Ingredients

  • White cabbage – 500 grams
  • Red onion – 1 Piece
  • Bulgarian pepper – 1 Piece
  • Sunflower oil – 3 tbsp
  • Vinegar 6% – 2 Tbsp. spoons
  • Sugar – 2 Tbsp. spoons
  • Mustard – 0.5 Teaspoons
  • Salt – 0.5 Teaspoons

Directions

  1. Prepare the ingredients for making your German cabbage salad.
  2. Chop the cabbage into thin strips.
  3. Peel, wash and chop the onions. Add to cabbage.
  4. Peel the bell pepper from seeds, wash and cut into thin strips. Place in salad.
  5. Stir in cabbage, onion and pepper. Remember a little with your hands to let the vegetables juice.
  6. Pour sunflower oil into a saucepan with a thick bottom, add salt and sugar.
  7. Pour in vinegar and stir. Put on the stove, bring the marinade to a boil.
  8. Add mustard to the salad.
  9. Pour the hot marinade over the salad and stir.
  10. Leave at room temperature for a day. After this time, the salad can be eaten.
  11. German cabbage salad is ready. Serve as an appetizer or as a side dish for meat, poultry, fish.
