A liver cake is a simple and festive meal, easy-to-cook, and quite cheap. Thin liver pancakes and a layer of vegetables with garlic and fresh herbs make the dish very appetizing and delicious. Even if you do not like liver, I suggest cooking such a liver cake – its taste in the cooked dish is not so noticeable.

Ingredients

  • Liver – 600 g
  • Raw eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Boiled eggs – 1 pc.
  • Milk – 200 ml
  • Flour – 150 g
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon.
  • Pepper – 1/4 teaspoon.
  • Oil – 2 tablespoon. for dough and 2 tablespoon. for frying
  • Onions – 300 g
  • Carrots – 250 g
  • Fresh herbs – 1 bunch
  • Garlic – 4 cloves
  • Mayonnaise – 200 g

How to cook a liver cake:

Directions

  1. Rinse the liver thoroughly. Remove the membrane and all unnecessary things. Put the liver through a meat grinder.
  2. Mix the eggs, salt, and pepper separately.
  3. Add the milk and flour. Whip thoroughly with a whisk.
  4. Combine the flour mixture with the liver.
  5. Mix everything with a blender and add 2 tablespoons of butter.
  6. Finely chop the onion.
  7. Grate the carrot on a coarse grater.
  8. Fry the onions and carrots in a little oil, lightly salt. and let them cool.
  9. Fry liver pancakes in a frying pan. I made a total of 10 pancakes and one small pancake to decorate my cake.
  10. Chop the fresh herbs and set aside some for decoration.
  11. Mix mayonnaise, half of the chopped herbs, and garlic squeezed through a press.
  12. Divide the vegetable filling into about 9 parts.
  13. Coat the pancake with mayonnaise (a little less than a tablespoon), put in one of the 9 pieces of the filling. Make the whole liver cake in this way.
  14. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the top and sides of the cake.
  15. Separate the hard-boiled egg into white and yolk. Grate them separately on a fine grater.
  16. Decorate the sides of the cake with the chopped herbs. Decorate the top with a hard-boiled egg: sprinkle the center with egg yolk and the edges – with egg white.
  17. Cut the remaining pancake into strips and roll them up.
  18. Decorate the cake appetizer with roses made from liver pancakes. Let the liver cake cool before serving.

Enjoy your meal!
