Chocolate Muss

A simple recipe for chocolate mousse with cream. Chocolate mousse can be served with cookies, cake, ice cream, or just for tea.

Cook: 2 hour

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • Bitter chocolate (chopped) – 250 g
  • Egg yolks – 4 pcs.
  • Sugar – 4 tbsp
  • Whipping cream – 2 cups
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon

How to make the chocolate mousse:

Directions

  1. Melt the chocolate in a water bath. Remove from heat.
  2. Combine egg yolks in a small saucepan, 2 tbsp sugar and 3/4 cup cream. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, about 3-4 minutes, but do not bring to a boil.
  3. Remove from heat, add the melted chocolate and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. Strain through a strainer. Cover and refrigerate until completely cooled.
  5. With a mixer on medium speed, beat the remaining 1 1/4 cups of cream and 2 tbsp sugar to steady peaks. Gently mix 1/3 of the whipped cream with the chilled chocolate mixture. Then add the rest of the cream and mix gently into the cream.
  6. Place in portioned bowls, cool, cover, and refrigerate for at least an hour.
