Ingredients

  • 1 kg flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 40 g yeast, fresh or 2 packets dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 800 ml coconut milk
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Desiccated coconut as desired

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour with salt. Crumble the yeast and mix with sugar until everything becomes liquid. Mix the flour with the yeast mixture and well-stirred coconut milk (add desiccated coconut if necessary) and knead vigorously to form a smooth dough (air bubbles should be visible when cutting into the dough).
  2. Let the dough rise for 1 hour. Then divide into three portions, shape them into long rolls and braid them. Brush with egg yolk, put in the still cold oven, set to 200 ° C and bake for around 40 minutes.
