Ingredients

  • 1 sachet mashed potato powder
  • 450 ml milk
  • 25 g butter
  • 150 ml sunflower oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 packs dry yeast
  • 1 egg (s)
  • Egg yolks for brushing
  • Sesame seeds for sprinkling
  • 500 g feta cheese
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 750 g flour

Instructions

  1. Cook the mashed potatoes with milk according to the instructions on the packet and add the butter.
  2. Put the egg, sunflower oil, sugar, salt and yeast in a bowl and mix with the lukewarm mashed potatoes. Gradually add the flour and knead until a soft, no longer sticky dough is formed. Cover and let the dough rise for half an hour.
  3. Chop the parsley into small pieces. Mash the feta cheese with a fork and mix with the parsley. Remove walnut-sized pieces from the dough and shape. Spread the cheese on top and shape it as you like. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds if necessary.
  4. Let the dumplings rest on a baking sheet for 10 minutes before baking. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
