Gingerbread “Sissy”

This recipe for gingerbread “Sissy” is my favorite for many years. An excellent option for delicious pastries for a large family, because there are a lot of gingerbread.

Ingredients

  • Milk – 250 Milliliters
  • Sugar – 250 Grams
  • Flour – 625 Grams (125 grams – in the custard, 500 grams – in the dough, you may need flour for dusting)
  • Eggs – 2 Pieces (1 whole egg and 1 yolk – in the dough, 1 white – for glaze)
  • Salt – 1 Pinch
  • Vanillin in bags – 2 Pieces
  • Baking powder in bags – 1 Piece (24 grams of baking powder if it is homemade)
  • Powdered sugar – 125 Grams (for glaze)
  • Vegetable oil – 50 Milliliters

Directions

  1. Prepare the ingredients for making gingerbread.
  2. Pour milk into a ladle and heat to a boil.
  3. While the milk is heating, combine 125 grams of flour and sugar.
  4. Pour the hot milk into the flour and sugar mixture. Stir well so that no lumps remain.
  5. Add vegetable oil and let cool to room temperature.
  6. Sift flour, add baking powder and vanillin to it.
  7. Beat one whole egg into the mixture of milk, flour and sugar and add another yolk (leave the white for the glaze).
  8. Gradually add flour to this mixture in portions, stirring in immediately.
  9. Substitute the dough, if it sticks to your hands and the table, add more flour. Divide the finished dough into several pieces.
  10. Turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees and start rolling out the dough. Roll out the dough into a layer about 0.8 cm thick. Cut out the circles with a thin-walled glass.
  11. Place the gingerbread pieces on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for about 15 minutes.
  12. While one batch is baking, make a blank for another batch of gingerbread. There are a lot of gingerbread.
  13. Make the icing by pouring the egg white into the icing sugar.
  14. You should not whip the powder with the egg into foam, just mix with a fork until smooth, prepare a silicone brush for smearing.
  15. Lubricate all the gingerbread cookies with icing and let them dry, it will take 15-20 minutes.
  16. Delicate and delicious gingerbread cookies are ready, you can call your relatives for tea, pleasant home gatherings!
