Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup spelled flour
  • 2 ½ cup semolina
  • 1 cup raw cane sugar
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 2 tablespoon paste (golden milk paste)
  • 2 ½ cup hazelnut milk (hazelnut drink), unsweetened
  • 3 tablespoon peanut oil
  • 1 pinch (s) salt

For the spice mix: (Golden Milk Paste)

  • 3 tablespoons water or a good oil
  • 2 tablespoon turmeric
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ ginger powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ black pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 pinches cinnamon powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Grease the baking pan.
  2. For the golden milk paste, mix the oil or water with the other spices. If you have the paste in stock, you can of course use 2 tablespoons of it.
  3. Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl. Mix the golden milk paste with the hazelnut milk and the oil and add to the bowl. Mix everything well with the hand mixer and pour the mixture into the greased baking pan.
  4. Bake for about 30 minutes, if you want it brown, please leave it in the oven a little longer.
  5. The cake is just slightly sweet. If the sweetness is missing, the cake can be brushed thickly with agave syrup or dusted with powdered sugar while it is still hot.
  6. This cake has a slightly different taste and you have to like turmeric. Of course, instead of hazelnut milk, you can also use other plant-based milk or normal cow`s milk for non-vegans. It just shouldn`t be sweetened.
