Instructions

  1. The apples e.g., grate with a coarse kitchen grater and let it steep together with the sugar in a cool place for a few hours, preferably overnight.
  2. Now mix the flour with the baking powder, salt, cocoa, cinnamon, gingerbread or speculoos spice, cocoa and a little grated lemon peel and then slowly knead into the apple mixture.
  3. Now carefully fold in the remaining ingredients such as hazelnuts, almonds and raisins, so that a relatively moist dough is formed. If necessary, the consistency can be adjusted with flour or apple or orange juice.
  4. Now grease the baking tins and dust them with oat flakes or flour, for example, so that the bread can be easily removed from the tin after baking.
  5. After about 60 minutes of baking at 180 ° C top / bottom heat, a wonderful smell promises that the apple bread is ready. If necessary, use the stick test to check that the bread is through.
  6. It is best to serve it warm with a touch of butter.
