Ingredients

  • 700 g apples, tart ones
  • 4 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 125 g corn rits
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 60 g butter
  • 4 tablespoon honey
  • 0.5 liter ½ thick milk, Swedish thick milk or whipped thick milk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon butter, for the pan

Instructions

  1. Takes some time:
  2. Wash the apples, quarter them, remove the core and cut the apple quarters into thin slices.
  3. Grease a baking dish with butter. Pour in the apple slices and drizzle with the maple syrup.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180 °.
  5. Mix the corn grits in a bowl with the salt. Melt the butter, do not let it brown and dissolve the honey in it. Mix a good half of it with the Swedish thick milk or thick milk. Save the rest.
  6. Pour the Swedish thick milk mixture onto the corn semolina, mix everything together well and distribute on the apple slices.
  7. Stir the lemon juice into the rest of the butter and honey mixture, drizzle the casserole with it and bake on the second rack from the bottom for about 1 hour until golden brown.
  8. Serve hot.
