Ingredients
- 25 ml rum, whiter
- 25 ml Malibu Coconut Rum
- 25 ml coconut milk
- 50 ml pineapple juice
- some ice, (crushed ice)
- 3 tablespoon strawberries, thawed frozen

- First, grind the strawberries and a handful of crushed ice in a blender so that a homogeneous mass is created. (must not be too runny), set aside.
- Now puree the rum, Malibu, coconut milk and pineapple juice together with a good two handfuls of crushed ice in a blender to a homogeneous mass. The mass must have the consistency of frozen daiquiri. If necessary, a little more crushed ice has to be added.
- Now carefully alternately pour both mixtures into a cocktail glass (start with the light colada). This creates a swirl pattern that is somehow reminiscent of the lava flows in Hawaii. Practice makes perfect here, it took me half a bottle of Malibu to get it that way.
- I discovered this delicious and light summer cocktail in Hawaii. Many recipes are circulating on the American network, but always with banana, which was definitely not in any of the numerous Lava Flow cocktails that I drank there. Also, this cocktail is not prepared with the sweet cream of coconut like many other cocktails, but actually with coconut milk, so the cocktail is not that sweet. If you want it to be a little stronger, you can add some rum to the strawberry mix.
