Ingredients

  • 1 kg minced meat
  • 2 onions)
  • 400 ml broth
  • 1 head white cabbage
  • Caraway seeds, whole or ground
  • salt and pepper
  • possibly sauce thickener
  • possibly sour cream

Instructions

  1. Season the mince with salt and pepper. Add onion and caraway seeds. Quarter the cabbage, cut out the stalk and slice into fine strips.
  2. Cover the bottom of a large pot with a layer of cabbage. This is followed by a layer of mince, another layer of cabbage, and so on. Repeat the process until everything is used up. The last, top layer must be herb.
  3. Pour the broth over it. Simmer everything for 45 minutes on medium heat. Possibly pour off part of the broth at the end and bind with a sauce thickener (or sour cream). Boiled potatoes are ideal as a side dish.
