Ingredients

  • 1 melon (s), ripe, orange-fleshed (e.g. cantaloup)
  • 400 g mozzarella
  • 1 onion (s), red
  • basil
  • sea-salt
  • 2 lemon (s) the juice it
  • 6 tablespoon olive oil
  • Black pepper from the mill

Instructions

  1. Core the melon and cut into wedges. Release the pulp and cut into slices. Cut the mozzarella into slices. Layer the melon and mozzarella alternately in a large bowl. Season with sea salt and drizzle with lemon juice. Drizzle with olive oil. Slice the red onion into fine rings and pour over the mozzarella and melon. Scatter the cut basil over the top. Cover with aluminum foil and let it steep for at least 1/2 hour. With a fresh baguette. A wonderfully light summer dish or a tasty starter.
