Roast beef is a traditional English dish. I offer you a very simple recipe for cooking roast beef in a pan. If you wish, you can serve it with orange sauce, made in minutes!
Ingredients
Beef (tenderloin) – 800-1000 g
Vegetable oil – 2-3 tablespoon.
Salt
Pepper
Dry seasonings
For the sauce:
Orange – 1 pc.
Mustard – 1 teaspoon
Honey – 1 teaspoon
Balsamic vinegar
Directions
Rinse the meat, cut off the films. Season with salt, pepper, and spice to taste. I have a mixture of rosemary, sage, and bay leaf.
Fry the meat on all sides in a well-heated skillet with butter
Cover and simmer over low heat. How many? For a piece of 600 g, I got 8 minutes on one side and 8 minutes on the other side. Meat WITHOUT blood! If you like roast beef with blood, reduce the cooking time. If your piece of beef is larger, lengthen this time. For a sample, you can cut a slice and see the cut. It is important not to overcook, otherwise, the meat will become tough and tasteless.
Wrap the meat first in foil, and then in cling film. It’s a little secret – that all juices are evenly distributed. Leave to cool.
In the pan where we roasted the roast beef, prepare the orange gravy. Add freshly squeezed orange juice, balsamic vinegar, mustard, and honey. Mix everything thoroughly. We give the sauce a little boil-evaporate.
Cut the meat into thin slices with a sharp knife. Serve with sauce or simply with balsamic cream. Enjoy your meal!
