Sandwiches with Mussels and Cottage Cheese

I love snacks with mussels and cream cheese, but because of its high cost on weekdays, you can not always afford to enjoy such dishes. I came across a recipe for sandwiches with mussels on the Internet, where cream cheese was replaced with cottage cheese. Much cheaper, but how much will it affect the taste? I decided to check!

Ingredients

  • Bread – 8 slices
  • Cottage cheese – 100 g
  • Dill greens – 2 sprigs
  • Garlic – 2 cloves
  • Mussels in oil – 16 pcs.
  • Cucumber – 1 slice
  • Salt – a pinch

Directions

  1. We prepare products for sandwiches with mussels and cottage cheese.
  2. First of all, we cut off the hard crusts of the bread to get approximately the same squares.
  3. Fry in a dry frying pan on both sides until lightly browned. To keep the bread from burning, the fire should be slightly below average.
  4. Rub the bread with a peeled garlic clove on both sides.
  5. Grind the curd with a fork or in a blender.
  6. Finely chop the dill.
  7. We combine cottage cheese with herbs. Squeeze out 1.5 cloves of garlic there. Salt to taste (I added just a pinch). Mix cottage cheese with herbs and garlic thoroughly.
  8. We spread the cooked mass on the bread, distribute it evenly, level it with a knife.
  9. Cut a slice from cucumber and cut it into cubes.
  10. Put cucumber on a slice of bread in the center, and mussels on the sides.
  11. Sandwiches with mussels and cottage cheese are ready. It is best to serve this appetizer right away when the bread is still crispy.
  12. Was the experiment successful? Definitely, I will take note of it as an alternative to sandwiches with cream cheese, such sandwiches are also worthy of a festive table. The sourness of the cottage cheese is a good addition to the delicate taste of mussels.
