Ingredients

  • 50 ml vinegar (light rice vinegar)
  • 1 teaspoon tamarind paste
  • 2 tablespoon fish sauce, (from the Asian shop)
  • 2 tablespoon sugar, brown
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 1 cucumber (s)
  • 2 shallot (s)
  • 1 small chilli pepper (s)

Instructions

  1. Stir in vinegar, tamarind sauce, fish sauce, sugar and salt, bring to the boil. Let the marinade cool down.
  2. Wash the cucumber, cut in half and cut into wafer-thin slices. Clean the chilli, remove the seeds and dice. Peel the shallots and cut into thin slices. Mix everything.
  3. Let the salad steep for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Season to taste with vinegar and sugar before serving.
