Ingredients

  • 1 kg beans, green
  • 2 large beefsteak tomatoes
  • 2 onions)
  • 0.5 ½ cup olive oil, approx. 250 ml each
  • salt and pepper
  • sugar
  • 0.35 ml water
  • 1 ½ tablespoon tomato paste

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the beans and tomatoes. Cut the tomatoes into small cubes and the beans into 3 - 4 cm long pieces. Let the olive oil get hot in a medium or large saucepan. In the meantime, chop the onions very finely and fry them in the oil for 1 minute.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients - tomatoes, beans, salt, sugar, pepper, water and tomato paste - stir well and bring to the boil briefly. After boiling, turn the stove down. For me it was from level 9 to 3. Let the dish with the lid simmer for 50 - 60 minutes. Stir the beans every now and then and then season again to taste. You`re done when they`re all soft.
  3. If you want, you can also squeeze in some garlic or even cook the dish with ground meat.
  4. Tip: Dissolve the tomato paste in the water beforehand.
