Ingredients

  • 3 onion (s)
  • 100 g bacon, smoked
  • 1 kg potato (s)
  • 800 g beans, reen
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon flour
  • 0.5 liter ½ meat broth
  • salt and pepper
  • Savory
  • Fondor
  • 4 piece (s) bratwurst
  • 1 tablespoon lard
  • possibly vinegar
  • possibly sugar

Westphalian-style Bean Stew with Sausages

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the onions, dice the bacon, peel the potatoes and cut into approx. 1 cm cubes. Sort the beans, wash them and cut into small pieces.
  2. Fry the onion and bacon cubes in hot butter. Dust with flour, do not let it take on color and pour the broth over it. Add potatoes and beans. Season with salt, pepper, savory and fondor and cook over a mild heat. Season to taste, possibly also with vinegar and sugar.
  3. Finally, fry the sausages in lard and place on the stew.
  4. This goes well with beer and bread.
