Almond Flour Chocolate Cake

Almond flour has a special flavor and texture, so this chocolate cake with almond flour is tender, crumbly, and has a wonderful crust. If you don’t have almond flour, you can buy sliced almonds, grind them in a food processor, and add them to the regular flour.

Ingredients

  • Almond flour – 150 g
  • Regular flour – 30 g
  • Dark chocolate – 100 g
  • Butter – 120 g
  • Eggs – 3 pcs.
  • Sugar – 150 g
  • Lemon zest – 1 lemon + some more zest for decoration
  • Limoncello or other citrus liquor – 2 tablespoon.
  • Powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Melt the butter along with the chocolate over a pan of simmering water.
  2. Whisk the eggs and sugar into a white fluffy foam.
  3. Mix the almond flour with regular flour and sift them.
  4. Mix the eggs with chocolate, zest, and liquor, then add the flour mixture gently.
  5. Bake the chocolate cake with almond flour for 40 minutes at 160°C. Sprinkle the baked cake with the zest and powdered sugar.
