Ingredients

  • 250 g flour, whole wheat flour
  • 50 g honey
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 20 g yeast
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 125 ml milk, warm
  • 40 g butter, melted
  • 150 g almond (s), round or finely chopped
  • 1 egg white
  • 80 g honey
  • 3 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Prepare a soft yeast dough from the first 7 ingredients. To do this, dissolve the yeast in the milk and knead with the other ingredients.
  2. Let rise until the batter has doubled. At least half an hour.
  3. Mix the remaining ingredients in a small bowl.
  4. Knead the dough again and roll it out in a rectangular shape (45 x 30 cm) on a floured surface. Brush with the almond mixture, roll up from the long side and cut into about 15 pieces.
  5. Let rise again on the baking sheet until the snails have enlarged significantly.
  6. Bake at 200 ° C for 15-20 minutes.
  7. We always like to take these snails with us to a nice picnic.
  8. The kids love them.
