Ingredients

  • 6 apples
  • 2 oranges, some zest and the juice from them
  • 1 tablespoon butter, liquid
  • 3 tablespoon honey, more liquid
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • some lemon balm leaves for decoration
  • 4 scoops ice cream (vanilla)

Instructions

  1. Scrape off some zest from an orange with the zest and set aside. Squeeze the juice out of both oranges and set aside. Finely chop the lemon balm leaves and, if possible, put 4 leaves aside for decoration.
  2. Wash the apples, but do not peel them. Carefully remove the core from the apples using a core casing cutter. Then halve the apples and cut into fine slices.
  3. Melt about 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan and steam the apple slices together with the orange juice. Then add 3 tablespoons of honey and possibly 1 tablespoon of water and bring everything to a boil. The apple slices should not disintegrate.
  4. Now arrange the apple slices on four dessert plates in a fan shape (as if you were placing them on an apple pancake). Drizzle with the stock from the pan and sprinkle with the chopped lemon balm leaves.
  5. A scoop of vanilla ice cream, which is placed in the middle of the plate, goes wonderfully with it. Put a couple of orange zest onto the ice.
