Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to top bottom heat 230 ° C.
  2. First cut the apples in half and carefully remove the core. Then either use a knife or a slicer to cut or slice the halved apples, starting from the base of the stem, into very thin slices. Put the slices directly in the water so they don`t turn brown. If the slices are not elastic enough to be rolled up, briefly put them in a large saucepan with the water and bring to the boil. Then pour off the water and drain the apple slices.
  3. Now unpack the puff pastry roll and roll it out. Since there is still paper under the dough, the sheet of dough can be cut into 8 strips directly on top. Then spread the jam thinly over half of the strip. Sprinkle the cinnamon on top and, if necessary, the sugar. Now place the apple slices with the round side up, overlapping by approx. 1 cm on the part of the puff pastry that has been coated with jam. Make sure that the apple slices always overlap. When the strip is completely covered, fold the unoccupied part of the dough up over the apples. Now slowly roll up the strip from left to right and put the rose in a muffin tin.
  4. Put the roses on a baking rack on the lowest rail in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes at 200 ° C. Please test whether the puff pastry has risen nicely and is turning slightly brown. If necessary, increase the time and reduce the temperature so that the apples do not turn black.
  5. After the 20 minutes I took them out of the muffin molds and put them on a baking sheet and baked them for another 10 minutes at 180 ° C with the lower heat setting. Since I didn`t want to risk them not being baked on the inside.
