Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the pumpkin. (Caution: do not cut thin slices if the pulp is tender, otherwise they will disintegrate when frying.
  2. Season the pumpkin slices with salt. Bread with flour, egg and breadcrumbs.
  3. Bake in melted fat in a pan until they are golden yellow and turn.
  4. Place the schnitzel on kitchen paper and allow excess fat to drain off.
  5. If you want, you can refine the finished schnitzel with lemon.
  6. Ideal substitute for Wiener Schnitzel for vegetarians! Tastes particularly good with potato and cucumber salad.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
