Ingredients

  • 500 g beef oulash
  • 3 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 5 onion (s)
  • 2 cloves garlic)
  • 1 tablespoon paprika powder, noble sweet (also a part spicy if you like)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 600 ml broth
  • 250 ml red wine (alternatively white wine)
  • 25 g dark chocolate, 70% cocoa content
  • 3 tablespoon cherry jam
  • 3 carnation (s)
  • 0.5 ½ bay leaf
  • 3 tablespoon herbs, fresh, mixed
  • some water or broth

Instructions

  1. Fry the beef goulash over high heat in 1 tablespoon of heated oil with thyme, curry powder, salt and sugar.
  2. Peel and dice the onions and garlic cloves and sauté them in a little heated oil in a pan. Season with paprika powder and sweat again briefly.
  3. Then add the onions to the meat and add the tomato paste. Deglaze with the broth and the red or white wine. Then add the cloves, bay leaf, dark chocolate and cherry jam (to taste) and simmer for approx. 100 minutes. If necessary, always top up with a little liquid (water or broth).
  4. Arrange on plates and serve sprinkled with the herbs.
  5. Potato fritters with cranberry cream and lettuce in a cream dressing go well with this.
