Ingredients

  • 250 g butter
  • 5 egg (s)
  • 250 grams sugar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 125 ml coffee
  • 1 tablespoon rum
  • 150 g almond (s), (flakes)
  • some lemon (s) - zest, grated

For decoration:

  • Cake icing (sugar)
  • Cocoa powder
  • Confectionery, (chocolate coffee beans)

Instructions

  1. Mix the butter with the sifted sugar, vanilla sugar, rum, cocoa powder and grated lemon zest until frothy. Stir in egg yolks one at a time.
  2. Mix the flour and baking powder, sieve and stir into the yolk mixture alternately with the coffee and the flaked almonds. Beat egg whites into snow and stir into the batter.
  3. Put the dough in a greased, floured Gugelhupf pan and bake in the preheated oven at 180 ° C for about 50–60 minutes.
  4. Let the Gugelhupf cool, turn it out and decorate with sugar icing, cocoa powder and chocolate coffee beans.
