Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 1 pinch allspice, crushed
  • 1 pinch carnation (s)
  • 1 pinch (s) nutmeg
  • 1 pinch (s) pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 60 g mararine
  • 150 grams sugar
  • 180 g currants
  • 30 g lemon peel, finely chopped
  • 35 g yeast
  • 200 ml milk, warm
  • 2 egg (s)

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour, spices and salt into a bowl and mix in flakes of margarine with your fingertips. Add the sugar, currants and lemon peel. Mix the yeast with the warm milk well, add the beaten eggs and gradually mix everything into a soft dough. Beat vigorously with a hand mixer, a wooden trowel or by hand. Then cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Lightly knead the dough again on a floured board and divide into twelve even pieces. Shape into round rolls. Let rise again for 10-15 minutes on a floured baking sheet. Brush with the beaten egg and scratch each roll crosswise with the kitchen knife. Bake in the preheated oven at 200-220 ° C for about 15-20 minutes.
