Filet Mignon Steak

I would like to advise all connoisseurs of meat dishes to try to repeat this simple, refined and mouth-watering recipe at home. It is definitely worth adding to the culinary piggy bank!

Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • Filet Mignon – 2 Pieces
  • Salt and Pepper – To taste
  • Olive oil – 1 tablespoon spoon (+ 1 teaspoon)
  • Mushrooms – 6-8 Pieces
  • Shallots – 1 Piece
  • Garlic – 2 Cloves
  • Red Wine – 1 Glass (Cabernet)
  • Butter – 1 Teaspoon
  • Thyme – 1 Pinch

Directions

  1. Wash the steaks, dry them, let the meat “rest” on the table for 15 minutes. Then season with salt and pepper to taste on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Lay out the beef and fry for 5 minutes on each side, and then 2 more.
  3. Meanwhile, peel and chop the onion and garlic.
  4. Remove the meat from the pan and transfer to a warm plate. Add a little more oil and put onions, garlic, chopped mushrooms
  5. Fry for 5 minutes, then pour in the wine, add a little salt and pepper.
  6. Simmer the sauce for 5-8 minutes, then pour over the meat and serve immediately.
