German Onion Pie

Today we have a very delicious yeast dough snack pie stuffed with fried onions and bacon. It was based on a recipe for a pie called Zwiebelkuchen.
Ingredients
For the dough:
- Milk – 120 ml
- Butter (melted) – 80 g
- Wheat flour, premium grade – 300 g
- Instant dry yeast – 2 teaspoon
- Salt – 1 teaspoon
- Sugar – 1 teaspoon
For filling:
- Onions – 700 g
- Fresh bacon – 100 g
- Sour cream – 150 ml
- Eggs – 3 pcs.
- Dried oregano – 0.5 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
Directions
- In a deep bowl, combine sifted flour with yeast, salt and sugar.
Make a depression in the flour, pour in warm milk and melted butter (not hot).
- Knead the dough. Cover with a towel and put in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Cut the bacon into small cubes and fry in a frying pan until golden brown.
- Peel the onion, cut into thin half rings. Put the onion with the bacon, salt and pepper. Saute until the onions are soft.
- Roll out the dough into a layer 3 mm thick. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, form sides.
- Put the fried onion and bacon on the dough in an even layer.
- Pour the filling with eggs mixed with sour cream, oregano and salt on top.
- Bake yeast cake with onions in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for 40 minutes.
- Cool the finished onion pie, cut into pieces and serve.
