Ingredients

  • 500 g nocchi
  • 1 can tomato (s)
  • 350 g bratwurst, Thurinian or other fresh ones
  • 2 onions)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Tomato paste
  • 100 g cheese, rated
  • 125 g mozzarella
  • Salt and pepper, chili powder
  • 1 piece (s) butter
  • basil
  • olive oil
  • sugar

Instructions

  1. Press the sausage out of the skin and form small (gnocchi-sized) balls. Heat the olive oil in a pan and fry the balls in it. Drain the fried balls on paper towels.
  2. Finely dice the onion, press the garlic and cut the tomatoes into pieces (collect the stock).
  3. Heat the olive oil in a small saucepan, add the onions and garlic and sweat. Add tomato paste and fry briefly, add tomatoes and stock and fill up with a little water or, if you like, broth. Season to taste with salt, pepper, sugar and chilli. Let the sauce simmer for at least 30 minutes. Can simmer longer.
  4. Cook the gnocchi according to the instructions on the packet and place in a baking dish together with the sausage balls. Add butter and finely chopped basil to the sauce. Spread the sauce over the gnocchi and sprinkle with chopped mozzarella and cheese.
  5. Bake at 200 ° top / bottom heat in a preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes.
