Ingredients

  • 1 ½ kg turnip (s)
  • 4 large potato (s)
  • 500 g pork belly, fresh
  • 50 ml cream
  • salt
  • Black pepper from the mill
  • Lovage
  • Parsley, fresh

Grandma`s North German Turnip Stew

Instructions

  1. Peel, wash and cut the turnip and potatoes into small pieces.
  2. Cook the belly with a little lovage and pepper in salted water for about 25 minutes.
  3. Now add the turnips and potatoes and let simmer for another 30-40 minutes.
  4. Remove the belly and cut into bite-sized pieces.
  5. Add the cream to the stew and pound the whole thing with a pounder.
  6. Now add the lump meat again, add fresh parsley, stir once and on cold days just let it taste.
