  • 250 g pearl barley, fine
  • Salt water
  • 300 g minced beef
  • 1 leek
  • 6 carrot (s)
  • 3 twigs lovage
  • vegetable broth
  • parsley
  • salt and pepper
  • water

Instructions

  1. Cook the pearl barley in salted water with the lovage according to the instructions on the packet. Peel and coarsely grate the carrots and wash the leek and cut into thin rings. Wash and finely chop the parsley.
  2. Then fry the minced meat in a large saucepan and add the carrots with a little water and continue to simmer, adding the leek a short time later. As soon as the pearl barley is ready, place in a large colander, rinse and remove the lovage. Then add to the other ingredients in the large saucepan.
  3. Add hot water until the desired consistency is achieved. Season to taste with salt, pepper and vegetable stock. Before serving, add the finely chopped parsley and stir it up once.
  4. The lovage is not absolutely necessary, the stew tastes good even without it. But if you get it, it is highly recommended!
