  • 100 g mararine
  • 100 g semolina
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 4 egg (s)
  • 1 vegetable onion (s), finely diced
  • 250 g bacon, diced into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Lightly fry the onion and ham cubes in a non-stick pan until they smell delicious. Let cool for 25 minutes.
  2. In the meantime, beat the margarine until frothy, add the eggs and continue mixing. Mix the semolina and baking powder and stir in another bowl with the quark. Now combine the quark mixture and the egg margarine mixture and mix well with the mixing spoon.
  3. Now add the fried bacon and onion cubes and, depending on your taste, about 1 - 2 tablespoons of Provence herbs and 1 - 2 teaspoons of marjoram or oregano (or something completely different). Season to taste with pepper and salt (be careful with the bacon). Preheat the oven to 200 ° C.
  4. Grease a cake tin with oil or margarine and sprinkle with semolina. Pour in the dough. Now bake the quark cake for 80 minutes at 180 ° C. Please check it from time to time, because it is getting too dark (may only be golden brown), it is better to cover it with aluminum foil.
  5. Tastes irresistibly hot or lukewarm - snacking is also possible cold. Garlic, cocktail and pepper sauce go particularly well with it.
  6. As a vegetarian variation, replace the bacon with herbs (e.g. nettle, wild garlic or similar, but spinach also tastes very good).
