  • 500 g flour, wheat flour type 550
  • 20 g yeast, fresh
  • 325 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 20 g suar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Sieve the flour into a bowl, make a well and pour the sugar into the well.
  2. Dissolve the yeast in 100 ml of lukewarm milk, pour into the well and stir with a little flour from the edge to form a pre-dough, leave to rise for 30 minutes until the pre-dough has doubled.
  3. Then sprinkle salt on the remaining flour on the edge and knead everything well together with the remaining lukewarm milk (225 ml). Cover and let this dough rise in the bowl on the open oven door with the oven switched on (50 ° C) for 30 - 45 minutes, until it has approximately doubled its volume.
  4. Now knead the whole thing well again, shape into an elongated loaf, place in a greased and floured loaf pan (25 cm), cut the surface several times across ½ cm deep and cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes.
  5. Place a bowl of water in the oven, preheated to 175 ° C, and bake the white bread for about 45 - 50 minutes. If necessary, cover the surface of the bread with aluminum foil after 30 minutes.
