Ingredients

  • g 1,200 lamb (boneless lamb hip)
  • 2 cans tomatoes, peeled
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 2 pinches cinnamon
  • salt and pepper
  • oregano
  • marjoram
  • 1 onion (s)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 300 g Kritharaki (noodles in rice form)
  • 150 g cheese, rated
  • 500 ml red wine

Instructions

  1. Cut the lamb into bite-sized pieces and fry them in a little oil. Season with salt and pepper. Dice and add an onion, garlic and tomato paste. Deglaze with red wine and add the tomatoes and bay leaves. Let everything simmer for about 1.5 hours. Then season with the spices.
  2. Cook rice noodles according to the instructions on the packet and place in a baking dish, pour the sauce over the meat and pour plenty of cheese on top. Baked for 20 min with top / bottom heat at 180 ° C.
