Potato Rolls with Herring

Snack rolls made from potato tortillas, with herring and green onions – this dish is not only tasty, it is also beautiful and incredibly easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes – 2 pcs.
  • Lightly salted herring fillet – 1 pc.
  • Green onions – to taste
  • Lettuce leaves – 2-3 pcs.
  • Cucumber (optional) – a few stripes
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Vegetable oil – for greasing the pan

Directions

  1. Grate raw peeled potatoes, drain, salt and pepper.
  2. Spread the potato mixture in a thin layer in a preheated and oiled skillet.
  3. Fry the potato tortilla until golden brown on both sides. Take your time to turn it over, let the cake brown well, otherwise, it may tear.
  4. Cut the herring fillet lengthwise into strips.
  5. Put lettuce leaves, pieces of herring, thin strips of cucumber (it is very convenient to cut a cucumber with a vegetable peeler) and chopped green onions on a potato tortilla.
  6. Gently roll the stuffed potato cake into a roll.
  7. Press down a little on top so that the potato cake sticks together.
  8. Slice the roll and serve the herring and potato rolls to the table.
