Puff Pastries with Cabbage

Recipe for delicious cabbage pies. These pies have a great combination of thin, crispy dough and lots of cabbage filling. Such quick roll cakes can be cooked during Lent, at any other time, just like that, as well as on the festive table as a snack. I advise you to cook!

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • Flour – 2 cups
  • Water – 0.5 cups
  • Vegetable oil – 0.5 cups
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon.

For filling:

  • White cabbage – 0.5 kg
  • Carrots – 1 pc.
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Tomato paste – 0.5-1 tbsp
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon.
  • Vegetable oil – 3 tbsp
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Spices to taste

For sprinkling:

  • Flour – 1 tbsp
  • Water – 3 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds – 1 teaspoon

Directions

  1. To prepare the dough, combine salt, water, butter and flour in a bowl.
  2. We mix. Then knead the dough a little on the table.
  3. The finished dough is soft, but very elastic due to the oil. Put the dough in a bowl, cover with cling film. Set aside for 30 minutes.
  4. In a preheated frying pan with vegetable oil, fry the diced onions and grated carrots until soft.
  5. Then add chopped cabbage and fry until half cooked.
  6. Then add salt, tomato paste, chopped garlic, black pepper and spices. Stir, simmer the cabbage filling for the pies until tender and the liquid evaporates.
  7. Cool the filling.
  8. Knead the rested dough a little again. We form a sausage. We divide by equal 12-16 parts.
  9. Roll each part into a thin rectangle.
  10. Put the filling on the edge, tuck the edges and twist into a tube.
  11. Put the formed pies with cabbage on a baking sheet covered with parchment.
  12. To prevent sesame seeds from crumbling, prepare a batter from flour and water.
  13. Lubricate the pies with the resulting dough.
  14. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  15. We bake pies with cabbage at 200 degrees for 20 minutes.
  16. Puff pastries with cabbage, made from thin yeast-free dough, are ready. The dough is crispy and flaky due to the fact that the dough contains a lot of vegetable oil.
