Ingredients
- 1 kg flour
- 6 egg (s)
- 250 ml milk
- 250 g butter
- 300 g suar
- 1 small Bottle / s aroma, (lemon aroma)
- 1 cube yeast
- 100 g raisins
- 100 g almond (s), chopped
- 1 egg (s) for brushing
- 100 g flaked almonds or walnut halves, maybe a little more

- Prepare the pre-dough with a little flour, a little milk, a little sugar and the yeast and let it rise for 15 minutes.
- Add the rest of the flour, milk and sugar, as well as the eggs and flavoring, and knead the dough well. It stays very soft! Let rise for about 1 hour.
- Wash the raisins, dry them and roll them in flour. This is necessary so that they do not sink down in the soft dough during baking.
- Knead the melted butter into the dough, then add the chopped almonds and floured raisins.
- Form 2 braids and place in a large buttered casserole dish or in the drip pan. Let rise there for another hour.
- Brush with beaten egg yolk and top with flaked almonds or half walnuts.
- Bake at 180 ° for about 1.5 hours. After the first browning, cover the second half of the baking time with aluminum foil. Check the color from time to time.
- According to Slaweika, the braids should be ready after 30 minutes with forced air, but I haven`t tried that yet.
