Ingredients

  • 750 g flour (wholemeal spelled flour)
  • 500 ml water
  • 42 g yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  1. Measure out 500 ml of lukewarm water. Dissolve the yeast in approx. 100 ml of water (of the 500 ml).
  2. Mix wholemeal spelled flour with the rest of the water, salt and the dissolved yeast for approx. 5-10 minutes until the dough is tough. Let rise for about 15 minutes.
  3. Shape peach-sized rolls with moistened hands and place on a tray. Do not let the formed rolls rise any more. Immediately put into the oven preheated to 250 degrees top / bottom heat. 1 cup of water in the bottom of the oven. (This burst of steam makes the rolls rise wonderfully.)
  4. If you want the rolls to have a cut, make a cut with a damp knife.
  5. Baking time: 10 minutes at 250 degrees, 10 minutes at 200 degrees.
