Ingredients

  • 1 kg turnip stalk
  • 250 ml vegetable stock
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Steam the turnip stalks in the broth for about 20-25 minutes until soft. Lift out the stalks and drain well. Finely slice or chop. Make a sweat from butter and flour and fill up with the stem stock and milk. Bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the cut turnip stalk, let it get hot and season with salt, sugar and nutmeg.
  2. Goes well with sausages and new potatoes or with meatballs and chops.
