Sweet Cookies with Mayonnaise

Sweet and low-fat mayonnaise dough cookies turn out to be quite hard – biting dry, you need to make some effort. When soaked, the biscuits immediately soften.

Cook: 1 hour 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • Mayonnaise – 100 g
  • Milk – 50 ml
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Sugar – 150 g
  • Flour – 400 g (3 cups with a capacity of 200 ml)
  • Soda – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Vanillin – 1 pinch

To sprinkle on cookies (optional):

  • Poppy – to taste
  • Sugar to taste
  • Ground cinnamon – to taste

Directions

  1. Heat the milk until hot.
    Pour sugar into a deep bowl, pour hot milk and stir.
    We leave the mixture to cool to a temperature below 60 degrees.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the egg with mayonnaise.
  3. Add the egg and mayonnaise mixture to the milk bowl. Then add soda and vanillin. We mix.
  4. Sift flour into the resulting mass and knead the dough – first with a spoon, and then with your hands.
  5. Wrap the finished dough in foil and send it to the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  6. For convenience, we divide the dough into two parts.
    We turn on the oven to heat up to 200 degrees.
  7. Roll out the dough into a layer 4-6 mm thick.
    Cut out the cookies with the cuttings for the dough.
  8. Sprinkle the cookies with poppy seeds and lightly roll them with a rolling pin.
  9. Cover the baking sheet with baking paper, lay out the cookies and send them to an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 15 minutes (be guided by the features of your technique).
  10. While the cookies with poppy seeds are being baked, roll out the second half of the dough, cut out the cookies and sprinkle with sugar (I added ground cinnamon to the sugar). We also bake cookies for 15 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees.
  11. Sweet cookies with mayonnaise are ready. Serve the biscuits to the table with any drink of your choice.
