Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Wash, peel and cut the apples into very small pieces.
  3. Put the eggs in a bowl and beat them with the sugar and vanilla sugar until frothy (until the egg turns light yellow).
  4. Sift the flour and add the teaspoon of cinnamon and baking powder to the egg mixture. Use a spatula to stir into the egg mixture. Also add the oil to the mixture and stir. Now fold the chopped apples into the batter with the spatula.
  5. Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and spread evenly. Mix the cinnamon and sugar and distribute evenly on the dough so that not much dough can be seen.
  6. Now bake the cake in the oven for about 20 minutes until it is light brown (use a toothpick to test whether the cake is ready).
  7. Tip: Check the cake every now and then after about 10 minutes to prevent it from burning.
  8. After the cake has been baked, place the tray on a wooden board. Put about 2 tablespoons of margarine in a cup or bowl and let it melt (e.g. in the microwave). Now distribute the margarine evenly over the entire cake and then let it cool down.

Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
