Baked Potatoes in Sesame

by Editorial Staff

Oven-baked potatoes are one of the most common and versatile side dishes. But even this dish can be prepared in completely different ways. Today we will bake potatoes with sesame seeds and dried herbs.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes (medium-sized) – 600 g (weight of peeled potatoes)
  • Dried rosemary – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Dried thyme – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Ground paprika – 3/4 teaspoon
  • Sunflower oil – 100 ml
  • Sesame seeds – 3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Peel and wash the potatoes. Of the herbs, today I use thyme and rosemary, but a mixture of Provencal herbs or dried dill, parsley, etc., turn on the oven to heat up to 190 degrees.
  2. Combine sesame seeds, ground paprika, dried herbs, black ground pepper, and salt in a convenient dish.
  3. First, cut each potato in half lengthwise. Then we carefully cut each half of the potato in thin slices – like an accordion, not cutting to the end a little.
  4. Pour sunflower oil into a deep plate. Dip the potatoes in sunflower oil on all sides. Then roll the potatoes in a mixture of herbs and sesame seeds.
  5. Grease a baking sheet or baking dish with sunflower oil and put the potatoes on it.
We put the potatoes in a preheated oven, reduce the temperature to 175 degrees.
  6. We bake the potatoes in the oven for 30-40 minutes (until tender).
  7. Baked potatoes in sesame seeds can be served as an independent dish or as a side dish for meat and fish dishes. You can add mustard, ketchup or hot sauce to such potatoes. Mushroom sauce, herring, or vegetable salad will go well with potatoes in sesame seeds … And even without all this, potatoes are always loved and desired.
