Ingredients

  • 1 kg white cabbage
  • 40 g fat
  • 1 onion (s)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Caraway seed
  • 375 ml broth
  • salt
  • 2 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • acon, streaky

Instructions

  1. Clean, wash and quarter the white cabbage and remove the stalk. Slice or finely chop the cabbage.
  2. Heat the fat and fry the chopped onion with sugar and caraway seeds. Add the cut cabbage and stir-fry for 10 minutes. Pour in a little broth and season with salt. Cover and simmer for 30 - 45 minutes until soft. Season to taste with vinegar, salt and sugar and thicken with mixed flour.
  3. You can fry lean, diced smoked bacon and mix it with the cabbage.
  4. Side dish for fingernoodles, meat patties, bratwurst or braised beef.
