Ingredients

  • 1.3 liters cola (cherry cola)
  • 1 medium onion (s)
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoon sugar, brown
  • 1 liter tomato ketchup
  • 0.5 ½ dash lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons coriander, ground
  • 3 teaspoons ginger, ground
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ cinnamon
  • 4 chilli pepper (s) (La Costena Chipotle in Adobo sauce)
  • 1 jar jam (cherry jam)
  • 4 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcester sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan. Sweat the chopped onion in it until translucent, add the Cherry Cola and reduce to 1/3.
  2. In the meantime, finely chop 4-5 Chipotle Jalapeños, depending on the degree of spiciness you want. When the cola is reduced, add the entire jar of jam while stirring, then the chipotle, and then the rest of the ingredients. Mix the spices well beforehand!
  3. If you want, you can add some Stubb`s Hickory Liquid Smoke, but I usually leave that out.
