Finely chop the garlic cloves. Mix all ingredients together and season to taste in between, seasoning if necessary.
Simmer gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Possibly add a little whiskey after simmering. If necessary, the lemon slices can then be removed again.
It is best to let it steep in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours before serving. Keeps covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Goes wonderfully with grilled food in summer, such as B. spare ribs and steaks, or with meat fondue in winter.
