Instructions

  1. Clean the cauliflower and cook in salted water until soft. Drain the water well and mash the florets with a pounder or fork. Add the cream cheese, the processed cheese, the egg and the ham cubes, season with salt, pepper and nutmeg and mix everything well.
  2. Now roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut each sheet 1 time in length and 2 times in width into 6 equal-sized squares each. Place 1 tablespoon of the cauliflower mixture in the middle of all 12 squares and then divide the rest on top. Fold two opposite corners of the squares together and press down the edges to create a triangular pocket.
  3. Then bake them at 180 ° C for 20-25 minutes. Cover the pockets with cheese 5 - 10 minutes before the end of the baking time and sprinkle with paprika.
  4. Let the pockets cool down a little before serving, as the filling gets very hot.
  5. The recipe also works with broccoli or mushrooms. Do not boil the mushrooms, sizzle them in the pan and mash them instead of mashing them.
  6. This goes well with fried chicken breast and light sauce. In smaller portions, it is also suitable as a party snack.
