Cold Mint Tea with Citrus

by Editorial Staff

This aromatic and rich drink will certainly become your main find this summer! This tea combines benefits and taste, because fruits are primarily vitamins, and the pleasant aroma of mint has a calming effect on the body.

Cook: 1 h.

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • Tea (we use any varieties to your taste) – 10-15 g
  • Fresh mint – 4 sprigs
  • Ginger (both powdered and natural) – 5 g
  • Lemon – 1 pc.
  • Oranges – 2 pcs.
  • Honey – 4-5 tbsp
  • Boiled water – 1.2 l (of which 600 ml boiled water)

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, brew tea with boiling water (600 ml) and leave for 10-15 minutes (the tea leaves should be strong enough because in the process we add citrus juice + dilute with the remaining boiled water).
  2. Add the zest of 1 lemon and orange to the finished brew (cut to a white rind, as it gives bitterness). Then add 3 sprigs of mint, ginger and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. At this time, we prepare the juice. Squeeze half a lemon and 1.5 oranges into a glass. We will use the remaining halves of orange and lemon as a decoration (cut into slices or cubes and set aside until the final serving).
  4. When squeezing the juice, we are left with a wonderful peel, which we will add to the tea leaves and now leave it to infuse, and at the same time cool to room temperature (15-20 minutes is enough).
  5. Now we take out a beautiful jug and pour the fragrant tea leaves into it, be sure to filter it. Add honey and stir thoroughly. Add citrus juice and remaining water, mix again. And the final touch – add chopped fruits and mint leaves into the mint tea.
