Ingredients

  • 500 g beef or lamb
  • oil
  • 500 ml water
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 150 g peanut cream (African if possible, American if necessary)
  • 1 onion (s)
  • Spice (s) as desired (e.g. cayenne pepper, black pepper, a little salt)

Instructions

  1. Cut the meat into bite-sized pieces and fry briefly in a little oil with the chopped onion. Then deglaze with the water. Stir in tomato paste and peanut cream and season. Bring to the boil and then simmer slowly covered on a low flame until the meat is tender and cooked through. Season to taste and serve.
  2. The recipe is definitely variable in terms of adding the ingredients, but the way I wrote it, I cooked it yesterday and it tasted just as it was from a friend who comes straight from Gambia. Another said that you would cook the meat in water right away without searing it, you can try it out.
  3. By the way, the dish is quite nutritious and filling.
  4. Serve with vegetables and rice, potatoes or flatbread.
