Ingredients

  • 400 g flower sprouts
  • 1 liter water
  • 1 teaspoon, heaped salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pinch (s) pepper
  • 1 pinch (s) nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Clean the flower sprouts, i.e. remove the cut and yellowed leaves. Cut the stalk crosswise. Bring the water with the heaped teaspoon of salt to the boil and blanch the flower sprouts for approx. 2 - 2.5 minutes, then rinse in ice water and drain.
  2. In the meantime, heat the butter in a pan, but do not let it brown and toss the Flower Sprouts in it, season with pepper and nutmeg, done.
  3. There are also small potatoes and a natural schnitzel.
  4. Drowning the flower sprouts in a sauce wouldn`t make much sense because the florets are very tender.
  5. I tried another variant: fry a few slices of bacon in a coated pan until crispy and roughly crumble over the sprouts.
  6. After blanching and draining well, the Flower Sprouts can also be prepared as a salad with a light vinaigrette.
