Gnocchi

Gnocchi is very often prepared in Italy. There, this dish is served hot with butter, cheese and various sauces. Aleks in our country are often called dumplings or simply dumplings. See recipe.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes – 2 Pieces
  • Eggs – 2 Pieces
  • Flour – 1 Glass
  • Grated Cheese – 1/4 Cup
  • Salt, pepper, nutmeg – To taste

Directions

  1. Wash the potatoes and boil them in their skins until cooked through. Cool and peel the tubers. Use a blender or crush to mash the potatoes. Beat in chicken eggs to the potatoes, salt, pepper and mix.
  2. Grate hard cheese. You can use any type of cheese, including savory, if you want to give the gnies a special flavor and aroma. Add grated cheese to potatoes.
  3. Sift the flour through a sieve and add it to the mashed potatoes. Then mix everything thoroughly and knead the dough. Roll it into a ball and let it rest for fifteen minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into pieces, roll each of them into a rope. Then cut them into cubes about one and a half centimeters in size. Boil the nyeki in salted water until tender and serve with butter or sauce.
